Tourism potential in Lumajang is
much. Ranu Golden Triangel Area is one of them. This tourism place that located
in Klakah sub-District, just famous in the ear a nature lovers from Lumajang
and surrounding. Ranu is other name of lake according to our local language.
Lumajang have some ranu. They are Ranu Klakah, Ranu Bedali, Ranu Pakis, Ranu
Pane, Ranu Regulo, Ranu Kumbolo, Ranu Lading, Ranu Glebeg and and mysterious
ranu named Ranu Tompe. Since long time ago, Ranu has become a backrest for the
economy of the surrounding community. Ranu Golden Triangel is term for 3 lakes
or 3 Ranu in Klakah sub-district. They are Ranu Klakah, Ranu Bedali, and Ranu
Pakis. They called Ranu Triangel because the located of their area so close and
formed a Triangel. All of this Ranu also using as a climbing lane before we
climb to Lemongan Mountain. 10 last years, this Ranu run into silting because
the forest in this area is broken that caused of illegal logging. With local
people, the greening from Ranu Klakah since 2004 gradually move to broken area
in Lemongan Mountain.

INTRODUCTION
1. Background Issues
Tourism
potential in Lumajang is much. Starting
from Religion tourism, nature tourism, marine tourism, and etc. but, development of each
other is different. There is already developed like as Pura Mandara Giri Semeru
Agung but, any sector that still not developed like as Tetes Cave, Bambang
beach, etc.
In
other sector, for example in nature sector , many tourism place that just
famous in the ear a few people. Ranu Golden Triangel Area is one of them. This
tourism place that located in Klakah sub-District, just famous in the ear a
nature lovers from Lumajang and surrounding.
Look
at his condition, the author hope with
the formulation of this scientific papers, can increase the interest from
citizen in Lumajang to visited lake Golden Triangel.

CHAPTER II
THEORETICAL BASIS
1.Definiton of Ranu
Ranu
is other name of lake according to our local language. A caldera that full with
water that come from some the springs or come from rainwater that flow from
elevation of mountain around the lake. In Lumajang, majority of Ranu located in
Klakah and Senduro. They get water from Lemongan Mountain and Semeru Mountain.
2.Ranu-Ranu in Lumajang
Lumajang
have some ranu that scattered in Senduro , Randu Agung and Klakah sub-district.
They are Ranu Klakah, Ranu Bedali, Ranu Pakis, Ranu Pane, Ranu Regulo, Ranu
Kumbolo, Ranu Lading, Ranu Glebeg and and mysterious ranu named Ranu Tompe.
3.The Benefit of Ranu from Lumajang
Society
Since
long time ago, Ranu has become a backrest for the economy of the surrounding
community. The owner of the rice field and their laborer, fisherman until the
street vendors around Ranu. In the dry season, Ranu can be source of clean
water for the society. Ranu also can be the purpose of cheap recreation.

DISCUSSION
1.
Definition
of Ranu Golden Triangel
Ranu
Golden Triangel is term for 3 lakes or 3 Ranu in Klakah sub-district. They are
Ranu Klakah, Ranu Bedali, and Ranu Pakis. They called Ranu Triangel because the
located of their area so close and formed a Triangel. Mileage between Ranu
Bedali to Ranu Pakis about 7 km. and Mileage between Ranu Bedali to Ranu Ranu
Klakah about 6 km and all of them can accessible easily with two or four
wheeled vicle.

Ranu Klakah, Located in Tegal Randu
village, Klakah sub-district with distance about 20 km from Lumajang City.
This
object located in altitude 9oo meter asl, with wide 22 ha, and depth 28m. this lake
have beautidul background. That is Lemongan Mountain tah have altitude about
1668 asl and supported with fresh and cool air. Rich variety of fruits that is
sold along the way, be special attractionfor this tourism object. Except enjoy
the panoramic, we can run surround the Ranu, boating, picnic, or fishing. Ranu
Klakah have a hotel for stay with 6 rooms. If lucky, we can see tradition of
Tegal Randu society named Renting or Bek ben. Renting or Bek benis traditional
art special from Tegal Randu every the society open the fields. Beside that,
Ranu Klakah also have terbang kalipan and kenong kelok that often shown if any
celebration or harvest.

Ranu Bedali, Located in Klakah
sub-district
This
lake have altitude about 700 meter asl, with wide of lake is 25 ha and depth
28m. the unique of this Ranu is located from surface of the water that located
far away below ground level.so, if wanna
achieve the mainland of lakeside, needed good health and high of
circumspection.

Ranu Pakis, Located in Klakah sub-district
This
tourism object have altitude about 600 meter asl with wide of lake is 50 ha and
depth of lake is 26m. still with background Lemongan Mountain, and nature
condtion that still virgin, it would be special attractionfor nature lovers or
tourist that need fresh air. Except recreation, tourist also can enjoying fresh
fish, like as Mujaher, Nila, etc, that sale in the simple stalls and can be
souvenir to take home.
Reputedly,
this lake is craters of Lemongan Mountain. Every activities that caused by that
mountain, not displayed of the peak, but of that’s craters.
All
of this Ranu also using as a climbing lane before we climb to Lemongan
Mountain.

problems that faced by Ranu Golden
Triangel Area

last years, this Ranu run into silting because the forest in this area is
broken that caused of illegal logging. Many springs are drying up because
nothing tree that saving water. Every rain down, always leaves a landslide that
make Lemongan mountain face, so sad. Many farmer run into crop failure because the
water that caome from Ranu Klakah greatly reduced until 4 meter. From 30 point
of the springs, now just 4 that still have water.

With
local people, the greening from Ranu Klakah since 2004 gradually move to broken
area in Lemongan Mountain. Today, barren area in this mountain with wide 6000
ha have been successfully planted with a thousand fruit tree seedlings, and
bamboo in area with wide 400 ha.

attention our tourism place that located in Lumajang. They are also wonderful.
